The burglar suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries from a shotgun blast, said Anaheim police Lt. Bob Dunn. Dunn said police received a call about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday about a man with a black ski mask attempting to break into a home in the 830 block of Quiet Canyon Way. The suspect ran into the night, prior to the arrival of police officers, he said. Then at 3:30 a.m. today, police received a call of a man with a black ski mask inside a home in the 900 block of Country Glen Way, he said. The homeowner and burglar grappled, and the resident was hit by a metal object, possibly a wrench. The homeowner then armed himself with a shotgun and fired a shot at the suspect, who ran away, Dunn said. The homeowner refused any medical treatment. Police set up a perimeter and the bloodied suspect was located shortly before 5 a.m. in a garage in the 1000 block of Country Glen Street, he said. The burglar was not named, and described only as a man in his 30s.
