♬ Christmas Lullaby - John Rutter (1945~ ) 요즘 가장 핫(Hot)한 교회음악 작곡가인 존 루터(John Rutter)는 1945년 런던에서 출생했습니다. 대중적이면서도 고전적인 영국음악의 전형적인 형태를 가진 작품을 발표하였고 작품의 선율이 아름답고 매력적이어서 영국·미국·캐나다 등지에서 많이 연주되며, 한국 교회에도 널리 알려져 있어요. 런던의 하이게이트학교(Highgate School)에서 성가대 단원으로 활동하면서 음악과 밀접한 관계를 맺었으며 케임브리지대학교 클레어 컬리지(Clare College)에서 공부하면서 학생 신분으로 여러 곡의 작품을 발표하였고 지휘자로 활동한 음반도 냈답니다. 영국 웨스트민스터대성당 성가대 명예감독이 되었고, 1988년 영국 최고의 교회 음악인으로 선정되었어요. 1997년 한국을 방문하여 서울 모테트합창단을 지휘하기도 하였는데, 모테트 합창단의 영상은 없어서 아쉽네요. ..........
