Christmas has always been my favorite time of year. Baking, shopping, visiting etc. Since I am Polish I always had the Christmas Eve meal at our home. A few days before I would start making periogi - I made, potato, sauerkraut, cheese, plum and apricot. One year I had the help of my 3 kids, Mom, friend Mary and her Mom - that was the best and fast. Since many friends were not Polish or Catholic I also made differetn dishes for them.Salmon, duck, lasagna, middle eastern, Cornish hens etc. After my divorce I told the kids to invite friends - that turned into quite a big group by the time the kids were in high school. Would not trade those memories for anything.
