Christmas in the Southern Ocean for Sea Shepherd Crews on the Bob Barker and the Sam Simon The 60 crew members on the Bob Barker and the Sam Simon spent Christmas Day in pursuit of Antarctic tooth fish poachers. The Bob Barker has kept the notorious Nigerian flagged Thunder on the run for two weeks after catching them setting their illegal gill nets off the coast of Antarctica. The Thunder took off and has been unable to escape from the Bob Barker despite attempts to lose Sea Shepherd in thick ice and nasty storms. The Sam Simon continues to search other poachers in the area. Calls for assistance to Australia and New Zealand have met with no response. However the Thunder called for backup and three of the six known poaching vessels are reported heading towards the position of the Bob Barker and the Thunder. They are still some 2,000 nautical miles away. The Bob Barkers position is some 700 miles South of Ille Crozet in the very south of the Indian Ocean.
