Christmas is coming and the goose is no doubt getting a little - TopicsExpress

Christmas is coming and the goose is no doubt getting a little larger. This season does however bring about small drawbacks in terms of visitors and parking. There are considerable issues in and around the village when in comes to parking - the junction of Windmill Crescent and Old Mill Road is a good case. The parking here is dangerous at best, I have spoken with the police who tell me the parking issues fall under Local Authority. I have also noticed that some people believe that driving across grass verges and grass common space is acceptable. This cannot be the case, the grass quickly turns to mud and looks unsightly. If you have no vehicle access to you property, dont try to make one at the expense of our lovely village. I will be writing to the Parish Council and Sedgemoor Council relating to the number of permitted garages being developed into living accommodation. For each garage converted a designated parking space is lost - we have a number of these in Highcroft, the worst of which is a property who converted their garage, they have four vehicle and only two parking spaces - ergo two cars parked on the public highroad. I wish you all seasons greetings and all the best.
