Christmas is the time of the year when nearly every little boy writes Santa asking for a motorbike... But what options does Yamaha offer Santa? Of course there is everybodys first bike, the PW50. Small, light weight and simple controls that mimic the little ones push bike. With Yamahas Auto-Lube 2 stroke system its as simple as keeping the fuel and oil tanks full. This is a great option for the early starter. Next there is the TT-R50E. The PW on steroids. With a far heavier duty frame and suspension compared to the PW50, and approximately 30mm higher seat height, this is the step for the slightly older starter, or the slighter built, but slightly older kid. It brings with it the introduction to gears, with a 3 speed centrifigal clutch gearbox, and foot rear brake. Throw in electric start and youve got a fantastic little package with Yamahas reliability and build quality. Next off the rank is the TT-R110. Slightly bigger than the now discontinued PW80, the TT-R110 is alot of bike in a small package. Aimed at your average 8 to 12 year old range, its got all the features of little brother, electric start, heavy duty frame, centrifigal gearbox, but with a step up to 4 gears. The T-R125 comes in 2 guises, little or big wheel. Adding to the feature set a manual clutch and a standard 1 down, 5 up shift pattern, this is a model for the early teen on. The pick of the 2 is definately the big wheel model which is differenciated from little brother by its larger 19/16 wheels, preload adjustable forks and disc front brake, making for a great riding bike thats just as capable around the farm as it is chasing dad around the track.
