Church Discipline. Matthew 18:15-17. Jesus’ admonition has two parts: we are to initiate reconciliation, not waiting for the other; and we are not to tell all our friends about the wound inflicted upon us by another, but instead speak to them alone. When we talk to others before talking to the person who has wronged us, we make reconciliation even harder, but more than that, we now have sinned against the other, and often our sin is worse than the sin committed against us to begin with. Take the time to read over this passage to learn more about what Jesus suggests to do if someone refuses to repent. The entire process is referred to as “church discipline.”
