Cinepool is proud to have rented gear on this fan made trailer for a live action version of the anime film Akira. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this film, here is a little background. Akira is a 1988 Japanese animated SciFi action film directed by Katsuhiro Otomo that became a very popular cult classic and is widely considered to be a landmark in Japanese animation. Warner Bros. Entertainment has been trying to make a live action version of this film for years without any success. Recently a Montreal filmmaker with the help of the production company CineGround decided to show Hollywood and the world what a live action version of the classic might look like. With the help of many talented people they were able to put together a very accurate rendition. The trailer debuted in May of this year and has almost 3 million views. The Akira Project
