Cities have a profound need to work with those entities in their communities (i.e., namely faith-based) to come up with ways to empower, embolden, and encourage people into a place of finding a means of meeting their needs. Like the people of biblical times who sought to follow the apostles (Book of Acts) they were encumbered with many levels of static in their lives that interfered with their hearing lessons of life that could help them to move beyond hurts, habits, and hangups that impeded their health, wellness, and livelihood. If we remove the static of their lives, they will find ways to move on to greater success. I currently have a man who is hindered in getting a surgical procedure needed that would free him up to work, but to get the procedure done he needs medicaid to cover it, once it is taken care of he can then secure work. As a veteran he has tried to gain the assistance but to maintain the insurance he would have received after finishing out his military service cost an amount he is not able to afford on income from temporary employment wages that are not consistent or reliable. Issues that are systemic and layered create the multiple levels of static in their lives.
