Citizen Q:New homes in HRM might have to go knob-less. The City is looking at forcing anyone building a new house to use levers instead of doorknobs. It’s an accessibility issue, door levers and levered faucets are easier to use if you have mobility issues. In Halifax we’ve been replacing knobs in public buildings with levers since the 80’s, but now the focus is on residential places. Vancouver has already banned the doorknob in new homes.
