Clarification on Bala Must Stay as FCT Minister. I wish to sincerely apologise if to our people find it offensive our recent protest seeking Sen. Bala Mohammed must stay back to complete the policies he initiated. We are not saying we dont have original inhabitants of FCT qualified to take over from Bala Mohammed but we should also not forget that the President is the only one who has the power to appoint anyone that pleases him. Permit me to make reference to all his predecessors Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai 2004 – 2007 Dr. Aliyu Moddibbo Umar 2007 – 2008 Sen. Mohammed Adamu Aliero 2008 - Feb. 2010 Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed CON (Current) FCT has experience 15 ministers since 1976 none of them has ever succeeded in their policies nor carry the indigenous people along, the current minister Sen. Bala Mohammed for the very first time called for a round table discussion on the Land Swap policy he initiated, for the affected communities to come together and negotiate how the wish to be Integrated,Resettled and Compensated over their land rather than the usual militarised approach of Nigeria Army and Police rading our community chiefs, elders and youths as if we are hoodlums. Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed is the only Minister who has our people at heart, some few months ago he said I sincerely sympatheze with the Original Inhabitants, the Landlords of FCT I wish to assure you that any allocation that falls within the midst of your houses and communities shall be revoked untill proper plans of resettlement and compensation are in place we may recall recently Jahi community which was under threat of demolition by a serving Senator, am pleased to inform you that the community is free of the demolition threat as Bala has addressed issue after we approach him soliciting on behalf of our people, recently all the communities in airport had earlier been described as shanties and marked for demolition by the Director Development Control when we approached the FCT Minister, Sen. BALA MOHAMMED appealing that all the residents in airport road are indigenous people we recommended a fence to control buildings beyond the boundary. Am sure if you are driving along airport road you could see the fence we recommended, at the outbreak of Ebola disease am sure you all witness how we confronted the FCT Minister not to situate the centre in Kuje general hospital because some of our people are not all that informed and educated on the preventive measures of Ebola disease and a committee was set up to educate the Kuje residents thank God we know more have Ebola in Nigeria. I can remember vividly when his Royal Highness mai girma Sarkin Garki one among the paramount rulers in FCT was detained for months over resettlement issues by the so-called former minister of FCT El-Rufai and recently I Yunusa Ahmadu Yusuf was also detained for a month over the demolition of Gwarinpa-Alungu village. Question: how many of you so-called writers on Facebook came to visit nor protest seeking my release rather our so-called politicians made phone calls seeking that I should be held forever to enable them breath fresh air over some of the communities complains I have been posting about to remind to do the needful in FCT. Was it not the same minister who released me and said he know we need to remind him that we are indigenes but we should try and be coordinated in our actions he further said although he has to work with rules in the constitution h promised do all possible best to ensure that the interest of the natives is protected. If it was El-Rufai and others who does share in our plight I will have been doing another NYSC in prison now. How many of you can apply my kind of boldness to at least be a step forward in our plight? I sincerely appreciate the confidence you all have reposed on me and i will not fail you. am never a permanent friend to anybody who does not remember my people the Original Inhabitants of FCT but I must also not allow you to remain in the dark. I want appeal to you that at anytime we take decision as leaders of various associations always seek detailed information. For a long period of time now our ancestral land has continously been taken without compensation, we all share in the same pains but their two ways is either we carry arms as Niger Deltans or rather we mount pressure and also open rooms for dialogue? Question: How many of you have the ability and are ready to carry arms when needed, I can you could not come out in mass to at least protest for the release of stakeholders, chiefs and youths who have practice boldness in past but wakened by your none performance to support their boldness? On this note permit me to outline the reasons for our backwardness in FCT and as FCT Indigenous people. 1. Constitution: the 1999 constitution is our greatest enemy of course that is the fraudulent document that has the laws backing the Federal Government to take over our Land and Resources without recognition. Join us as we draft a new constitution with other Nigerians (Yorubas and the Igbos) who have already drafted how they want to control and manage their own resources by themselves let come together as we the middle belt and do what others are doing to gain sustainable freedom. 2. Bad Representation: Poor Representation is our second enemy in FCT. 3. Education: Education is poor among our people am sure if we have 6 professors, so many indigenous Doctors and Master Degree holders speaking on our plight we would have been 10 steps ahead. We have been given professional job slot severally but we barely find few to recommend. We can assure you that discussion are ongoing for Sen. Bala Mohammed has accepted to recommend an indigenous person to head one of the ministry as minister let pray that our dear President GEJ share in this view as we assured him of our undiluted support beyond 2015. Bala Must Stay and ensure the resettlement of the original inhabitants succeed for the first time since 1976. Bala must stay to answer our reminding questions when promised that Land Swap and All other projects in FCT shall be fully compensated for. GOD BLESS ORIGINAL INHABITANTS OF ABUJA. Yunusa Ahmadu Yusuf (Buhun Barkonun Abuja)
