Clarification on paranormal issues is not as easy as you might - TopicsExpress

Clarification on paranormal issues is not as easy as you might think. For my fellow ghost hunters and paranormal investigators, you may understand the circumstances I am about discuss. Recently, I came across a post on a social network regarding an investigation my team conducted. According to the home owner, the experience was not satisfactory and this person “expected more” from my team. To start, all of our residential cases are kept confidential, in order to work closely with that particular person or family and to avoid the issues and hysteria that may come from multiple opinions, varying theories or disinformation. We spend a lot of time talking to our clients, in order to screen them properly before taking the time to dedicate our efforts to their case. We develop case files by building a time line of events, as well as any documented or undocumented potential paranormal experiences; making sure we stay in close contact with clients in order to keep case logs as accurate as possible. As a team of volunteers, we take time out of our own schedules, work, families, and social time, to help those who need it. This can be very time consuming and the amount of coordination it takes for a proper paranormal investigation doesn’t just happen overnight. From the first phone interview, to the investigation and after, we stay in contact with our clients, regardless of whether we were able to document activity during an investigation(s) or not. The common misunderstanding about paranormal investigators is that we will arrive at a home or location shadowed by a huge TV crew and that we have to capability of collecting evidence of every experience a client has or more. This is simply not true and we never make any guarantee that we will collect evidence of anything paranormal (this is always communicated to our clients). Typically, the evidence we do collect is debunked. This comes from years of paranormal investigations and understanding that just about every paranormal experience can be explained if you look closely and investigate thoroughly. Investigations are warranted by the majority of my team and authorized by me in order to move forward. The process can take weeks and not every submission makes it past case management. Those who do receive an investigation, based on their dedication to following through with interviews and appointments, are getting much more than someone who did not. We take the word of our clients and base the priority of our cases on their truthfulness. We do not appreciate being taken advantage of, or pressured to get involved in a case that may take away from someone else who truly needs the assistance more. We are not a team of investigators looking for the next demonic possession or Holy Grail of paranormal evidence. We are scientifically based and approach each case analytically. However, we will work with clergy and spiritualist at the request of a client. We are not financed through any organization – every penny we invest into these cases (travel time, lodging, expenses and equipment) comes out of our own pockets. We do not charge our clients for an investigation, or for the labor involved in reviewing and analyzing case data. The bottom line here is not to waste our time. My team dedicates so much to keeping our organization working and we share a passion to bring assistance and awareness to those who need it most. We know we can’t help everyone, and we certainly cannot fix every single paranormal issue out there but what we do offer is more than a fair share of our time, not because we feel obligated too, but because we truly want to help people understand paranormal events as well as learn from what we experience. We are all students in the world of paranormal investigators, there are no experts and there are simply no guarantees in this field of research and study.
