Clark County Disability Coalition members recently came out with a position statement on employment for individuals with disabilities. Even though the coalition may be based in SW WA, what we promote in the position statement is applicable throughout all communities. Employment is a social justice issue and speaks to the human need to contribute and participate within society. As many in the autism community are aware, finding meaningful employment with appropriate accommodations is often difficult, no matter where one falls on the spectrum. As October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month and Autism Empowerment is part of the Clark County Disability Coalition, we hope you will find value with this position statement and share it with those you know who may be interested.
