Claudias service will be held on Wednesday 5th November 2014. The exact time will be confirmed tomorrow but we envisage that it will be at approx. 3pm. It will be held at St Thomas Church in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire.....Claudias home town. We are asking that people arrive to celebrate Claudias life, not to mourn her death. Claudia always smiled, she never once complained, she never even once questioned why me? In fact, quite the opposite, she always said she was glad that it happened to her and not her beloved Abigail or Esme (Zach was a baby at the time and she never included him into the possibility of getting cancer). Everyone is welcome to the service EXCEPT the media. Strictly NO press, NO cameras and NO unwelcome intrusions during this service please. The press involved which requested tv interviews the day after Claudias death and to those that turned up on our doorstep to see the grieving family, should know precisely who these comments are aimed at. I would have hoped that you be adequately ashamed but I seriously doubt that to be true. We request that any donations, in lieu of flowers, are sent directly to the Childrens Brain Tumour Research Centre at Nottingham. The very people who enabled Claudia to have the roller coaster of a ride for forty months opposed to just a feeble six miserable weeks in hospital before her death. If Claudias death can save even just one family in this entire world, even just one little girl or boy, one family from feeling how we do, right now, then that would be an incredible thing. No one in this world should ever feel this pain, no one should ever have to see what we have witnessed first hand, nor live what Claudia lived through for almost half of her lifetime. Brain cancer can and will be cured, one day, but sadly, not without money. It seems so wrong that there is so much of it (money) in this world and yet this suffering can be stopped. There is just not enough people know about it, to be able to stand up to it. PLEASE do not allow Claudias death have been in vain, this cause was so important to her and remains of paramount importance to her immediate family.
