Cleaned two years worth of shit off my desk today and said goodbye (for now) to the CSIRO. Never ever did I think I would have one of my own studies submitted to a scientific journal, but I do! I also never expected to dance in a Canberra gay bar with some of the scientists that used to lecture me, but boy, what a career highlight. Its been the best place to work and has made me even more passionate about science. A summer of adventures begin on Monday starting with five weeks sightseeing and volunteering with sea turtles in Costa Rica. I started fundraising for this a few years ago and thank you so much to those who helped out. Ive been working hard here to make sure I fit in with the Costa Ricans - the fake tan is now on, Ive survived the Brazilian wax (just) and Ive even learnt a few words of Spanish. And of course Ill be bringing some pieces of Australia to share. Another special thank you to Woollies for giving me so much time off.
