Clearly Rand Paul understands that discrimination is wrong, and - TopicsExpress

Clearly Rand Paul understands that discrimination is wrong, and he’s even seemingly aware of the fact that when it comes to civil rights, we can’t simply hold a vote because sometimes the majority is just simply wrong. What makes someone like Paul so frustrating to watch is that his compassion and insight in terms of discrimination only goes so far. He’s not actually willing as a lawmaker to do anything to fix the problems that discrimination presents. In fact, the whole reason that Rand’s had to scramble to try and repair his image as another typical libertarian douche-wallet that spouts nothing but platitudes about “civil liberties” while favoring ideologies and policies that actually encourage discrimination is that he himself in 2010 gave an interview about the Civil Rights Act in which he said, “I abhor racism. I think it’s a bad business decision to exclude anybody from your restaurant –but, at the same time, I do believe in private ownership.” There it is, in black and white. Translated, Paul was basically saying “Yeah, racism sucks, but I’m not going to do anything to stop it.” - See more at: politicalgarbagechute/rand-paul-hates-discrimination-he-just-doesnt-want-to-do-anything-about-it/#sthash.0Oyv4FuQ.dpuf
