Cleo is a sweet and friendly senior who was sadly returned to ACC after being adopted from there years ago. Cleo’s owner decided to bring her to the shelter because she has some dermatitis / sores on her instead of being a responsible owner and bringing her to a vet. A PODR volunteer witnessed Cleo being surrendered and heard her owner inquire about adopting a new kitten. Thankfully, the ACC staff told her that because she surrendered her cat, she would most likely not be considered a candidate for adoption. It is obvious that Cleo was just dropped off like yesterday’s trash with the intent to a replace her with a younger cat. Cleo’s owner did not look twice as she was taken out of her cardboard carrier and transferred into an ACC holding crate. She even made sure to take her cardboard carrier back. Cleo just sat there looking confused as to why she was taken from her nice, comfy home and brought to the shelter. Cleo deserves so much better than this. Please work to get this sweet senior out of the shelter and into a home where she will be truly loved and appreciated.
