LADYSMITH EVENTS Lift for Life - Ladysmith Friday, September 26 – September 29, 2014 A weekend blitz to raise awareness and funds for the Tour de Rock. Principal Dave Street will be spending 72 hours in a scissor lift collecting funds on behalf of the tour, as well as entertaining with stories and songs from the ‘comforts’ of his temporary home. Starting September 26, 2014 through September 29th, 2014 in the Ladysmith & District Credit Union lower parking lot! Invite your family and friends to come and participate in the challenge of keeping Principal Street entertained! Bring your instruments, your songs, your stereos, and your stories. Be creative – and you never know – the most creative person/people might just win a prize… LFR Beverage & Burger Evening - Ladysmith Saturday, September 27, 2014 Hosted by the Ladysmith Fire Rescue on September 27th, 2014 in the Ladysmith & District Credit Union lower parking lot. An evening of camaraderie and fun, the burgers/hot dogs start flying at 3:00 pm and will continue through 7:00 pm or until supplies last. Don’t miss your chance to interact with our local heroes! All proceeds will go to the Tour de Rock fundraising efforts. Rotary Pancake Breakfast – Ladysmith Sunday, September 28, 2014 Hosted by the Ladysmith Rotary, a fundraising pancake breakfast will be held in the Ladysmith & District Credit Union lower parking lot. Breakfast will be served from approx. 7:00 am to 11:00 am, so bring your appetite and support a great cause just by having your morning meal! Bottle Drive – Ladysmith Drop off your bottles to the lower parking lot of Ladysmith & District Credit Union on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm! All proceeds go to support Tour de Rock!! Red Serge Dinner - Ladysmith Monday, September 29, 2014 A semi-formal dinner held in honour of the Riders, their support crew, and as a fundraiser for the Tour de Rock initiative. Taking place on September 29, 2014 at the Ladysmith Eagle’s Hall, the Red Serge Dinner tickets are a high demand item, featuring a spectacular roast beef dinner, and are sold at Ladysmith & District Credit Union. Tickets are $25.00 each. Doors open at 6:00 pm / Dinner at 7:00 pm / Fundraising activities throughout the evening include a “Wall of Wine”, Silent Auction, Balloon Pop, West Jet tickets, as well as a special chance to interact with the riders! ONGOING EVENTS Mini-fridge Fundraiser - Ladysmith An ongoing fundraiser/competition from July through September 29th, 2014 where several businesses have the unique challenge of painting a mini-fridge in their own, wonderful style. The fridges will then be on display in various locations throughout Ladysmith for you to vote on and/or purchase a ticket(s) to win! Tickets are $2.00 each and include the possibility of winning not only the mini-fridge, but also the creative contents inside (you’re going to want to see this)! Wall of Heroes - Ladysmith An ongoing fundraiser, this unique wall at Ladysmith & District Credit Union features a mural of a rock wall, trees, and pathway which “lead to a cure for cancer”. With a minimum donation of $50.00, you can have the name of your hero painted on the wall – perhaps a cancer survivor, a caregiver, or someone who has passed away during the journey. Donations are taken at the Ladysmith & District Credit Union by deposit to Account # 992800-102. Simply drop by the Ladysmith branch or call (250)245-2247 to speak with a representative. Adopt-A-Rider - Ladysmith Ladysmith Downtown Business Association is sponsoring an “Adopt A Rider” program, encouraging local merchants and businesses to donate $50.00 to the Tour de Rock campaign. For their donation, they will receive a plaque with their ‘adopted’ rider’s name on it, and are to hold up/wave the signs as the riders bicycle into town. A professional photographer will also be available on-site, September 29, 2014, to take a picture of the adopted rider with their sponsor!
