The phrases, โIโm so stressed,โ and โIโm stressed out!โ are used like badges of honor proving that our lives are full and busy. But stress isnโt something to take lightly. Although we refer to stress as an emotion, itโs much more than that. And actually creates a series of physiological events inside your body. And how often these events occur and how long they last have a huge impact on your health. ๐๐ To understand this link, itโs important to understand a few basic things about stress. Stress describes an experience caused by something called a stressor. Stressor can be emotional or physical. Death of a family member, divorce or a break-up, or being subjected to physical or emotional abuse or trauma. Less obvious stressors include not sleeping enough, skipping meals, working long hours, over exercising, and taking care of everyone else, but yourself. Even positive events such as getting married. landing your dream job, or moving to a new town can be stressors. ๐ฅ In my unique 14- Day Stress Detox session, I will help you learn how your body responds to stress physiologically, with the nervous system, as well as hormonally.
