Clifton Dynamo leapfrogged into second place after comfortable and perfunctory 7-1 win over Freeman & Mitchell at Charnwood College. An even first twenty minutes saw Freemans overcome their player shortages and compete manfully despite only playing with one up top. Three rapid goals in the space of ten minutes before half time effectively swung the game Dymanos’ way. An impressive and controlled performance by Damion Humphries saw him blast home the opener after his impressive run from the half way line was brought short but the charitable Mitchell defence decided to give him the ball again! Jan Yeomans completed his hat trick, punishing the injury-hit Freemans back line. Turning with the wind Freemans battled strongly and pulled one back very quickly as keeper Kyle Harris spilled a simple shot and Needham pounced. Using all their massed subs on the touchline it was inevitable that Clifton would improve their goal difference bringing on midfielders of the calibre of Bryn Parkes and the speedy Kayden Campbell-Burke who both scored with fine shots. Shannon Grant finally got on the score sheet after a hard working shift was rewarded with the final goal to make it 7-1.
