Climate change report: A sceptic? Possibly, but I have leant long ago that what you think you see is not always what you get. Scrutiny and questioning can reveal what may be hidden from the initial glance. LCC is pushing hard to become 100% self-sufficient in renewables. But at what cost? I asked the question last night, it cost us $570,000 last year and I would suggest that the easy/cheaper things have now been done. Costs can only escalate from here. Reducing our reliance on fossil fuels is a good thing but we need a balanced approach and it can’t be at any cost because it is the ratepayers who will be ultimately footing the bills.
