**** Club Fire Recovery Plan **** As members may be aware the Club experienced a very serious fire in the early hours of Tuesday last. The fire, which started on the first floor smoking veranda at about 4:00 am, caused extensive damage to both the upstairs and downstairs lounges both of which will be closed until further notice. The Executive Committee of the club met on Tuesday evening and appointed a Recovery Sub-Committee to oversee the re-instatement of all club facilities. The sub-committee comprises of David Kennedy, Colm Clarke, Conor Reilly, Dominic Finnegan, Derek Tyrell, Paul Nugent, Sam Payne Jr., David Foran Jr., and Niall Kelly. The committee have met on two occasions since and are making good progress. A key initial objective is to have members facilities re-established for this weekend. We are pleased to report that a temporary Bar within a Building has been established in the club gym which will open from 5:00 pm on Saturday, and be available through Saturday evening and should be a novel place to enjoy the All Ireland Football Final on Sunday. Some very special Fire Sale Promotions will be extended after the Senior and Intermediate football games on Saturday evening and throughout All Ireland Sunday, so please come along and help to show that the spirit of the Club will not be dampened by this set back. It is likely to be a number of months before all club facilities are recovered. In the meantime we are evolving a phased recovery plan and will have further details in relation to how long we will be in temporary accommodation over the next 10 days.
