Clyde Bruce Knight DURHAM — Clyde Bruce Knight, 81, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Carolina House. He was born in Granville Co, son of the late Charles “Doll” Claiborn Knight and the late Mable Pitchford Knight. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Macon Knight and Charles Knight; sisters, Ruth Wilson, Charlotte Ferrell, Latina Dooley, Ann Bell, Nell Smith and Joan Tunstall. He was well known as “Mr. Did” for the City of Durham. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Power Squadron and Eno Lodge No. 210, A.F. & A.M. For many years, he hosted a pig pickin’ on Father’s Day weekend. Mr. Knight is survived by his wife, Jean P. Knight; son, Samuel Knight (Cynthia Tabor) of Durham; grandchildren, Tiffany Dawn Knight of Bahama, Patricia Jean Knight of Roxboro; nephew, Charles Alfred Knight of Durham and sister-in-law, Robbie Knight of Durham. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham. A graveside service will be held Thursday, 1:30 p.m. at Granville Memorial Gardens of Oxford with Masonic graveside rites by Eno Lodge No. 210, A.F. & A.M. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Clements Funeral Home in Durham. Flowers are acceptable or memorial donations can be made to Liberty HomeCare & Hospice, 3414 N. Duke St, # 201, Durham, NC 27704. The family is being assisted by Clements Funeral Service, Inc., in Durham, N.C. Online condolences may be made at clementsfuneralservice.
