Clydie Mare, 7yrs, approx. 15.1hh, unregistered (is branded). Asking $4000. Located Yandina, Sunshine Coast. This stunning, very hairy mare has been with me for almost two and a half years. She was green broken when I bought her however I used her as a brood mare, not for riding. Don’t be fooled by her size. She’s a cold blood and therefore doesn’t cost a fortune to feed. When we have good rain and the grass is growing she eats that with access to a mineral lick. If she’s yarded or the grass is not growing she I feed her one fruit tin scoop of maxi soy + I coffee cup full fat soy meal one biscuit of grassy hay at night, a grassy hay biscuit for breakfast and one for lunch. That’s all and she holds her condition. She is up to date with worming and t/s vaccinations (due again Melbourne Cup Day). Teeth are due to be redone mid September. She produced a very handsome colt for me and has been recently put back under saddle for the purpose of gauging her abilities for sale. She is a very big powerful mare who is great on roads, around cars and loud noises. She still needs a lot of education and is currently much happier being ridden in a halter rather than a bridle with bit. She goes straight on the float, is good to have her feet done and loves to be groomed. Catching really depends how she feels on the day, sometimes she catches herself and other times likes to play a little hard to get but gives up fast. Willow stands nicely to be saddled and for rider to mount and dismount. She is happy to plod when ridden alone, though is keen and can easily keep up the pace with other horses when ridden in a group. She can also be ridden bareback. Being a big, strong mare she will need an experienced rider with the ability to further her education. She would suit most disciplines e.g., pc, arc, dressage, jumping (especially with her powerful hindquarters), trailing, though probably not barrel racing or mounted games. Willow is offered for sale as we are no longer wanting to breed and we do not ride ourselves. She has been ridden recently by Miranda Wells and Rosie Nash.
