Coach Luigi Trillo is coming back, not as head coach but as an assistant coach of the Meralco Bolts. He is now set to take the spot vacated by Nash Racela who moved back to Talk’ N Text. He will be joining Ronnie Magsanoc, Patrick Fran, Gene Afable and Xavy Nunag as the assistant coaches of the newly announce Meralco head coach, Norman Black. He will also be reunited with brother Paolo Trillo, who is Meralco team manager. Trillo is the reigning Coach of the Year after leading Alaska to the Commissioner’s Cup last season, but disappointing results in Philippine Cup and Governor’s cup turned his fortune around. After weeks away from the limelight, Trillo worked as an analyst in the league’s broadcast team but made it clear his passion is coaching. “A lot of good coaches have done it (broadcasting) but it’s not bad to stay with the game. I love commentary but my passion is coaching,” said Trillo. He also said that he’s excited to buckle down to work at Meralco but insisted that it is Magsanoc who will be the first assistant of Black next season. mypba.ph/luigi-trillo-joins-meralco-coaching-staff/
