When I was 8 years old I received a flier in school about Vince Lombardi Football and Cheerleading, I brought it home and told my parents that I wanted to cheer! I’ve been in cheerleading ever since then! What is the best part of your job as a coach? As a coach I love to see my athletes accomplish things and improve their skills each year. And of course, I love to see their smiling faces when they come out on top at a competition. What important lessons have you learned from coaching cheerleading? Coaching cheerleading is very rewarding, but I have really learned patience, discipline, and how to become a better leader each year. What is the best cheerleading advice you have ever been given? The best cheerleading advice I have been given is to believe in yourself and your teammates and you can achieve anything you set your mind to! And this is what I teach each and everyone of my athletes! What coaching achievements are you most proud of? I have many proud moments as a coach over the years. As a Pop Warner coach I was proud to make it to States and Regional’s each year. As a High School coach I was proud of all the levels I coached, what sticks out mostly is GC Varsity making full team tumbling mandatory and kicking butt with 14 strong athletes. As an all-star coach I have many more proud moments it is hard to choose. I guess I would have to choose being the TOP US Jr Coed Level 4 team two years in a row! My Jr 4 Coed teams were hardworking athletes who never gave up! My other proud moment was taking two teams to The Cheerleading Worlds, Small Sr. 5 and IOC5. What is your favorite quote? I LIVE BY THIS QUOTE: “Everything happens for a reason.”
