Coaches, it can take a while... Theres nothing wrong with you or what youre doing... except perhaps a gnawing impatience in the process. So often we plant our seeds and yell at them to grow and blame ourselves that we arent harvesting 32 seconds after we water. Yes, some seeds grow faster than others, some might be like a Chia Pet and be fully grown in days and others may take a whole season to mature. Heres the thing though, youre asking people to trust you with their dreams and hopes, with their inner workings. Youre asking people to get emotionally naked with you. Youre asking people to invest in something that may not have a visible outcome. Youre not a car salesman, handing someone the keys to their new life. Youre a coach. You have to be willing to be in this for the long game. I used to wonder what I could be doing differently to force my business to grow faster. And my answer was kind of counter-intuitive... be willing to take your time. This business isnt about immediate gratification and closing rates. I cant even count how many people said no to me only to come back later to say yes. I signed up a client the other day who Ive had conversations with a few times over the course of two years and she is just now ready to work with me. Heres the wonderful part - some people are immediate yesses too. They arent all years in the making. AND the only way I get there is by not rushing the conversation, by taking my time with them. Its a learned skill, to be able to breathe and pause. It takes training to be okay with it taking a while. It takes practice to be just as okay with hearing no as you are in hearing the yes. Building a coaching practice is an organic process - shoot growing any business is an organic process. Always be planting and soon there will be crops to harvest. It can take a while... keep going. and then join me and lets sprinkle some miracle grow all over that shit
