Coast Salish Employment & Training Society Employment Opportunity Program & Employability Officer Coast Salish Employment and Training Society (CSETS) is seeking an enthusiastic person to be part of our team. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program & Employability Officer will provide a variety of services that support the diverse needs of our members, clientele, that relate to employment and training. This is a full time term position ending March 31, 2015, with the potential for extension. Duties & responsibilities; primarily work with ten First Nations Communities and the Victoria Native Friendship Centre; Promote Aboriginal Job Strategy Create and monitor sub-agreement contracts of the CSETS Responsible for EI/CRF and Youth budgets and sub-agreements Planning zone committee meetings Preparing Agenda Packages Review and edit Minutes Ensure follow-up with First Nations communities Intake and follow up for clients Monitor the contractual agreements and support the activities of the participants to ensure compliance with the program and enhance the potential for success of the program; Conduct site visits according to the requirements of ASETS monitoring plan, to ensure compliance; Ensure that the reporting requirements are being satisfied in terms of participant attendance and completion; Provide written reports to Executive Director, Committees, Finance; and CSETS Board of Directors; contact with all First Nations’ communities and organizations to identify training needs; develop contribution agreements for signing between the organizations. Assist with the development of proposals and negotiate proposals for funding when necessary under the CSETS program guidelines; Assist applicants in assessing resources/requirements, including the development of training plans. Required skills and experience: Knowledge of CSETS and the WILNEW Nations Two years’ experience managing contract files Two years’ experience financial reporting Knowledge of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Publisher, Power-point Valid class 5 BC driver’s license Willing to complete a Criminal record check Have a reliable vehicle insured for commuting rate.
