Coda Fiddle Orchestra needs your help! This year the Coda Fiddle Orchestra has been shortlisted by the Lloyds Community Fund in recognition of the project’s contribution to the development and support for young people in Boscombe and the wider Bournemouth area. Lloyds are offering a £3000 grant to two charities within the shortlist but we need your votes as there are three other great projects hoping to win too! Coda Fiddle Orchestra places children and young people with poverty of opportunity at its heart. Through violin tuition offered either, offered on scholarship or minimally priced lessons, self esteem and confidence is raised through participatory music. The Coda Fiddle Orchestra receives little funding and is almost entirely dependant upon grants and private donations. The Lloyds Community Fund will help us to continue to grow and get better, to reach and inspire more young people, and to perform more in our own town and travel to London and other cities to perform too. Voting opens on 23rd September at 9am. You can support the Fiddle Orchestra by texting VOTEPDLD to 61119 at your standard network rate. You can also vote online by following the link provided - lloydsbank/communityfund You can also vote in your local Lloyds branches in Bournemouth, Christchurch and New Milton. Don’t vote before this date, as your vote won’t be counted. You can vote until November but the sooner the better! We need as many votes as possible so please tell your friends and family, get support from work colleagues and help us make sure that the Fiddle Orchestra can flourish like it deserves to. This is what people have said about the Fiddle Orchestra and with your help it can continue. “By nature I’m a really shy person… When I first came here I was always hiding behind other people. I remember Jack saying: “Go on, you can do it.” When I played I felt really proud of myself. It also helped teach me to interact better with people in everyday life.” “Its so good to have something that promotes a positive view of Boscombe. It’s an outreach project but open to people from all walks of life. Making it something available for those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford it.
