Coffin from the tomb KV55. The face and the cartouche have been destroyed. The mummy inside this coffin has caused controversy in archaeological circles and has been thought to be either Queen Tiye, Akhenatens mother or Akhenatens secondary wife, Kiya or Smenkhkare. Now the mummy is believed to be of a young male. Country of Origin: Egypt Culture: Ancient Egyptian. Date/Period: 18th Dynasty, New Kingdom. Place of Origin: Valley of the Kings, Thebes .
