Cognitive problems and reduced mental function are an important, - TopicsExpress

Cognitive problems and reduced mental function are an important, but not yet fully understood side effect of chemotherapy treatment. Perhaps it affects people differently, but I am absolutely certain that chemo has altered my mental functioning in various ways. Fortunately, I no longer have the severe foggy brain issues I experienced for several months immediately after chemo, but my brain function is still noticeably altered most markedly in the areas of concentration, focus and memory. I used to be able to focus for hours on even boring tasks, reading and writing large reports. I feel I can no longer do this - sitting and concentrating on something that bores me (like office work) is excruciating and frustrating. But I have to say that I believe there are some positives as well - I have noticed that my brain seems to have developed more of a creative streak after chemo and I wonder whether any other chemo peeps out there have had the same experience?
