Coincidentally (or not), this was part of this mornings reading: We are caught up in a war of spiritual powers. Thanks be to God for the victories that our Lord Jesus wins for us. Our holy faith teaches us that “he who overcomes the world, [is] he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God” (1 Jn 5:5). We who believe in the Lord may also overcome Satan, “because He that is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 Jn 4:4). We know the “finger of God” (Lk 11:20) has touched us if we are able to hear and speak the truth in the midst of this age’s cold and deadly darkness. Lord, save Thy people and bless Thine inheritance, granting to Thy People victory. . . . –Hymn of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross The work we have done over the past month is the beginning of a wonderful journey. I am truly humbled and honored by the outpouring of support we have gotten, it has been absolutely overwhelming. As we embark on a new phase of our lives, Sandra and I look forward to new challenges along the way. I will be as diligent and vigilant with my new, additional duties as I am in my day job at the Department of Public Safety. It is my true belief that there is nothing so honorable as serving others. My life has been devoted to public service in one form or another. I am an ethical, principled man; one of my core tenets is there is never a right way to do a wrong thing. Thank you all for your unwavering support, yall have been the wind beneath our wings. God bless each of you!
