The idea behind Cash for Containers is simple: buy a beverage, return the container, and get a 10 cent refund. Its worked in South Australia for decades, where recycling rates are the highest in the country. But Coke is working around the clock to defeat the scheme -- even suing the Northern Territory when it started a Cash for Containers program.
