Cold, Snow and Hoarding, the pressure is on. Weather like this - TopicsExpress

Cold, Snow and Hoarding, the pressure is on. Weather like this means our phones light up, this snow is a killer for small animals. We are bombarded with requests for picking up cats. Just the weather alone means many people are contacting us for abandoned cats. We also have been collecting, trapping at a home in Redmond where a elderly lady recently passed away, possibly 20 cats will come out of there. Some are friendly, some feral. Our “trapper” has brought several cats in, she found several that had died outside, this isn’t a pretty job. Neighbors have been feeding some and have put on a heat lamp in the garage. Some are friendly, some are skittish, it is no easy job getting some of these, the weather makes it worse. These pictures were taken just before the snow. All of these cats go into cages ( until deemed OK to mix cage free) while being checked out, all will require shots, med’s and general rehab. The goods news is we are saving these cats, we can’t do it alone however. This all is straining our budget, being we are No Kill, yes our costs are higher then if we just put them down. Anything you can do to help, $ ( see donate now button on left of page) , cans & bottles at our collection trailer, cat food, litter etc. Your Facebook likes & shares help too ! Immediate needs ( beyond $ donations) are; -extra amount of scoopable litter, more than usual since sick cats are in cages and each has to have its own dedicated litter box, which we change out more often when they are sick. -High-quality food, dry but especially canned, to get weight on them, and when they are sick it is more appealing if it is the good stuff. Also canned meat baby food (especially poultry) sometimes is the only food a sick cat that can’t breathe/smell well is going to eat. They also like canned tuna for people, of course. -We are running low on bleach, gloves, detergent for dishwasher and laundry, 13-gal. (kitchen) trash bags, dryer sheets, paper towels. And cages, we are maxed population wise and need to separate new residents ( we have separate rooms for sick, shy, and general party room for others) -We could also use a 50 ft. or so heated hose. We had one that finally gave out, but since we have to clean cages, etc. during sub zero temps. Thank you from the volunteers and cats at Craft. PS there is a red donate now button on the left of the page if you are able to donate. Thank you again.
