Colleen Bell, producer of The Bold and the Beautiful, was appointed by President Obama this past Tuesday as U.S. Ambassador to Hungary, even though she has no experience with foreign relations, never mind foreign relations with Hungary. When asked at the daily press briefing what makes The Bold and The Beautiful producer qualified to serve as U.S. Ambassador to Hungary, White House spokesman Josh Earnest didnt exactly have an explanation. Shes somebody who obviously has succeeded in, you know, in the business world, Earnest said. And she is somebody that the President has confidence will be able to maintain our relationship with the government and the people of Hungary. It should be noted that she Contributed $800,000 to Obamas campaign and bundled $2.1 million from others. Wouldnt it be nice if our ambassador to Hungary, a country of geo-political importance in Europe, especially since it borders the Ukraine, was someone with actual experience and not just good fundraising skills? I hate to say it but, Im with John McCain on this one. Were about to vote on a totally unqualified individual to be ambassador to a nation which is very important to our national security interests, McCain said. I am not against political appointees ... but here we are, a nation thats on the verge of ceding its sovereignty to a neo-fascist dictator - getting in bed with Vladimir Putin - and were going to send the producer of The Bold and the Beautiful as our ambassador.
