College student held for theft in N’ganj Police arrested a college student in Narayanganj city in connection with a theft case. Al Fesani alias Priyo, 17, a second year student of Government Tolaram College, was arrested on Friday. Police sent Priyo to court yesterday seeking three-day remand for him. Md Wajed, uncle of Priyo, said recently an incident of theft took place at his niece Nipa’s, Priyo’s cousin, house. Nipa filed a case with Fatullah Model Police Station accusing unnamed persons. Wahiduzzaman, sub-inspector of the police station, said although Priyo’s name was not mentioned in the case statement, he was arrested as a suspect. He added that the plaintiff mentioned Priyo’s name to them over previous enmity. Meanwhile, Priyo’s family members claimed that Wahiduzzaman had demanded Tk 20,000 from them for Priyo’s release. Of the money, they had already paid Tk 17,000, they said. Wahiduzzaman, however, denied the allegation.
