Colloquium - The Debating and Literary Festival of NSIT is proud to present the Executive Board for the Indian Parliamentary Committee’15, Shaurya Upadhyay and Siddhartha Thyagarajan. Shaurya Upadhyay is currently pursuing a degree in Law from Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, and holds a Bachelors Degree in History from Hansraj College. He has been an avid debater for 8 years and represented Delhi University at the World Universities Debating Championship where he chaired Pre-break rounds. He has been an active member in the Indian Debating Circuit and has been the Core Adjudicator at various prestigious tournaments. He has been adjudged the Best Pro Speaker at the St. Stephens Mukherji Memorial ProAm Debate and has been in the top ten speakers at several other tournaments. Shaurya was given the Adjudicator of the Year award by the Indian National Debating Council at the National Debate Championship 2014. He has been declared the Best Adjudicator at various tournaments. Shaurya has also been involved in other activities like Mock Parliaments and is also a member of his college Moot Court Society. Siddhartha Thyagarajan is among those very few debaters who walked out creating a title for himself and became a legend for the rest of the society called Thyaga. He has won over 25 major tournaments including NLS, LSR, Premchand, NLUD, FTD, IITB, WAX eloquent, Kremlin, Manzaar, Dialectics and many others, and has been an eminent speaker in the international circuit. He has represented Delhi University at Oxford, Cambridge, UADC and Asians, broke at both UADC and Asians, and was ranked the third highest Indian speaker at UADC. After graduating from Ramjas with Economics Honours, Thyaga went on to pursue his Masters in International Relations from the University of Exeter. Thyaga was awarded honorary lifetime membership to the Exeter Debating Society for his outstanding and valuable performance there, which included representing the university at more than 5 British Parliament IVs. While he was there he has also had the opportunity to defeat one of the members of the European Parliament. Thyaga is currently working as a political risk and security analyst with International SOS. We look forward to having such an esteemed and experienced board at Colloquium15!
