Colonial Officers Round Pedestal Dining Table FILIPINO ca. 1873 Narra A rare Philippine table associated with a field grade Spanish colonial officer. The table is a massive, single-board mahogany topped pedestal table. Probably used either as a dining room table or as a entryway center table. Philippines, late 19th century. The vasiform shaped support holds up the single board top. The feet are delicately carved terminating in curling volutes. Paper label on underside inscribed, A. D. Fernando Carbo / Teniente Coronel del Regimento a / Infanteria H. 73 / Manila. Association with a field grade Spanish officer and thus rare. Dimensions: 30.5H X 52 D. Provenance: Sold through Leland Little Auctions on Sept. 19, 2009 Collection of the late W. Samuel Tarlton Unknown descent Infantry Lt. Fernando Carbo in the 19th century.
