The tick-borne illness is transmitted primarily by the bite of an infected blacklegged or deer tick, and can result in high fever, severe joint pain, and neurological problems. 24-year-old John Donnally - who has suffered from Lyme disease since the age of nine - partnered with the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance (tbdalliance.org) to launch a nationwide public awareness campaign titled “Bite Back For a Cure.” The cross-country cycling tour began Sept. 29 in San Francisco an effort to raise awareness and funds that help improve Lyme disease testing, research and treatment. Donnally will be cycling to Morristown, N.J. on Wednesday, November 27 to gear up and gather support from local friends and family before crossing the George Washington Bridge on Sunday, December 1 to finish his 4,000 mile journey in New York. vimeo/user21261638/review/77017475/97daf0b125 Questions: [email protected]
