Come Prepared to Serve! Our annual Knott Scholar Service Day is just 2 weeks from today - scheduled for Saturday, 9am-12pm, April 12 at Sisters Academy of Baltimore. This activity is our fourth and final Partnership event this year. The school community is still in awe of our outstanding support of their Taste & See event last month: record crowd and smashing success with the gift basket raffle! The school President, Sr. Delia Dowling, SSND, has proposed to us the following projects for April 12: 1) painting the outdoor fence around the property on Washington Avenue and in front of the school. It is metal and each block has 13-14 spikes. There are probably 15 blocks. Since the fence is spread out over the block, the project could accommodate as many people as can participate. 2) cleaning outdoor sidewalks, paths, and gardens around school property from the fall and winter, and landscaping them for the new season, and 3) purging from inside the school building and taking items to the local dump/landfill (directions to be provided); open pick-up truck would be needed; please advise if you can help! Supplies for painting: exterior paint will be provided. Please bring brushes, protective eyewear and gloves (suggested), and wear appropriate clothing. Supplies for gardening: topsoil, mulch, and plants provided. Please bring rakes, brooms, dustpans, shovels, clippers, edgers, weeding tools, heavy duty bags, and gloves. ***To register, please email wmacsherry@aol with the names of all participants - scholars and siblings of all ages, and parents, are welcome! All those under the age of 18 will need a signed permission form & release submitted on or before Service Day. To plan accordingly, please respond by Wednesday, April 9. Let me know if you have any questions. ***
