Come meet and listen to award-winning storyteller and musician - TopicsExpress

Come meet and listen to award-winning storyteller and musician John Thomas Fowler. He will entrance you as he tells of his journey discovering Trotting Sally, a street musician familiar to residents of Upcountry South Carolina; and the real man few knew--George Mullins, who lifted himself out of slavery and built a new life, brick by brick. Fowler fleshes out the public figure and reveals the private man behind one of the Carolinas most famous and elusive turn-of-the-century African Americans. It is a story of soap opera proportions about love and betrayal, the Civil War and hard times, and freedom and courage. Presented by the Friends of the Anderson County Library. Free and open to the public. Books available for purchase.
