Comeau’s Beach was made and its famous water swing that was a big attraction. Comeau’s was located around the end of the lake from what used to be the Beaver Lake Park Beach and which has now been empty for a number of years although much of what was part of that popular beach is now the site of several year round homes. The Pavilion was a big part of the lake’s early history drawing visitors from Boston who would arrive at the Derry Depot (site of the now closed Depot Steak House) on Broadway and from there be carried by trolley to the Pavilion where dances and entertainment was available. The Beaver Lake Home now owned by CLM was the Beaver Lake Hotel in the old days and visitors came by horse drawn carriage and later by the trolley and stayed there.
