Comfort Delgro is looking at raising fares for its normal fleet of taxis, according to industry insiders. The speculation is that the flag down rate will be increased from the current $3.22 to $3.80 while the fare for every 400m will rise from $0.22 to $0.30. In tandem with this hike, the taxi company that controls 62% of the islands taxi fleet is also said to be considering abolishing the morning and evening peak hour surcharges of $3.30.
