Command Sgt. Maj. Jeffrey Hartless of U.S. Army Installation Management Command recognizes chaplain assistants for their 105th anniversary. Chaplain assistants provide much-needed support to the chaplains during missions and everyday activities. A chaplain assistant’s primary purpose is support for the unit ministry team programs and worship services. On Dec. 28, 1909, the Army officially created the position of chaplain assistant, for the first time authorizing a Soldier to provide full-time religious support. Video by Jade Fulce
