Commentary: It is in the nature of man to forget. Some persons forget accidentally and others forget deliberately. That’s just how it is. We have to live with it and not get too perturbed. You can be good to someone 99 times and if you are not able to do it the 100th time, you may get an attitude from them. Someone can make a promise and then conveniently forget. However, our God has a perfect memory. He does not forget what he has promised and he does not thrown us out when we make a mistake. David says he does not forget the cry of the humble. Isaiah shows the degree of God’s ability to remember the cries and situations facing his people by using an example of a woman and her young child. Isaiah says such a woman, who is so closely and strongly connected to that child, she may forget that child. However, in comparison, God never forgets his children. Our entire lives are graven upon the palms of God’s hands. We are always in God’s sight. Every time God’s hands are opened, there we are – and he’s ready to defend us, provide for us , heal us and deliver us. The enemy will tell us God has forgotten us but that is a devil’s lie. Our God is not like man. His memory is perfect. When Hezekiah was sick unto death, he asked the Lord to remember how he praised him and worked for him. The Lord remembered and extended his life. When others fail to remember, our God will remember. Continue to serve him, pray to him and seek him. He will come through for you. He never forgets. It will not slip his mind. He has a perfect memory.
