Commentary from Sonny Narvaez: The following Ring 103 report by John Gannaway appeared in the November 1962 issue of _Linking Ring_: -----begin quote----- NO. 103, NORFOLK, VA.— Karland Frischkorn, Inc. Meets 1st Wed. 8 p. m. at Magic Shop. 446 Granby Street. HY KROSKIN, President 96-T Woodrow Ave., Norfolk 17, Va. JOHN H. GANNAWAY, Secretary Banquet and show November 3, in Suburban Country Club, Portsmouth, Va. For the first time in several years a stage was available which enabled us to present larger illusions than at previous shows. Guest, Bill Watson, Richmond, Va., told humorous stories. Bob McAllister, emcee, did many quickies between acts. Earl Edwards presented cigarettes, mutilated parasol and blooming bouquet with the as sistance of his daughter, Donna Kay. Jerry Maynard presented his routine that won the Guy Thompson Award, an annual presentation to a teenager in the local Blackstone Ring, who had made the greatest progress in magic during the past year. Francis Cahill,13-year-old, runner-up and winner of the Earl Edwards Award, presented his routine. John Gannaway and Don Miner presented routines; and Arthur Eason did a clown act. Hy Kroskin used dove productions, flower productions, flower trellis, doll house and Floating Princess. Horace Bennett, of Richmond, Va., presented close-up effects. Credit for another successful evening to Hy Kroskin and Hugh Fortescue for arrangements; Earl Edwards, Hugh Fortescue and Lynn Thomas, staging; and Bob McAllister, program.| -----end quote-----
