Commenting on the verdict of Anwar Ibrahims court case, Christina Suntai called the politic of BN UMNO in Malaysia as Politik Lubang Tumbong meaning the politic of a certain part of a human anatomy where the sun does not shine! This move is clearly seen as a political maneuver to stop Anwar Ibrahim from contesting in Kajang. This case was supposed to be heard in April but conveniently moved forward to March, just before submission of candidates for Kajang bi-election. Had Anwar Ibrahim contested in Kajang, he would have won by a huge majority and therefore would have been the Chief Minister of Selangor which strikes fear among BN UMNO and Najib of Malaysia, as the beginning of the end of their political career! This political maneuver shows that the Judicial System in Malaysia is no longer apolitical nor just. Anwar Ibrahim is now widely known as a world class politician, comparable to Nelson Mandela who fought against apartheid in South Africa and was jailed for 27 years. The United States has voiced concern over what it says are politically motivated charges brought against Anwar, urging Malaysia to ensure fairness and transparency. United Nations Human Rights Committee has ruled that charges against Anwar Ibrahim contravenes international legal standards and should be abolished.
