Comments are allowed until 10/28. Once wolves were delisted from the endangered species act, all states in which they were previously protected passed legislation to allow hunting. Despite the fact that Michigan residents flocked to sign a petition against instituting hunting, the legislature attached a monetary value to the bill, preventing voters from being able to have a say. Now is our chance to try, yet again, to be heard. Wolves are an important part of the North American ecosystem. Without the presence of apex predators, species diversity is depleted as invasive and adaptable species such as deer overbrowse (despite human hunting) and destroy fragile undergrowth. Please consider registering a comment to let the federal government know that we value our wolves!
