Comments by Solomony Wise My sincere opinion, How I wish our media will do their own investigative journalism,how I wish youths will ask questions,how I wish Nigerians will put aside tribalism and religious sentiment. It is to this end that I beseech Nigerians to use their good conscience and vote for performances past and present,not for promises,we know its easy to make but difficult to keep,there is no court of law in Nigeria to hold someone responsible for not keeping his promises. Talking about promises,you cant give what you dont have,you cant promise democracy when you dont have a democrat as a candidate,what is democracy? form of government based upon four elements: 1) The citizens choose and replace the government through free and fair elections; 2) There is active participation of the citizens(both genders) in politics and civic life; 3) There is protection of the human rights of all citizens; and 4) There is rule of law, in which the laws and procedures apply equally to all citizen Who amongst GEJ and GMB has guaranteed this democracy before and now? We can shortly analyse their time in office since theyve both run the affairs of this country,Under GMB journalists were jailed and banned contrary to GEJ who signed FOI bill into law,women in cabinets is another point,GMB had none,but today Nigeria has numerous women at the limelight. Through elections,under GEJ weve witnessed elections in Edo,Osun Ekiti ,observed closely by the international communities and one can rightly say it was free and fair,two out of three didnt favour his party,but he accepts ,congratulate and endorse these winners. He runs a government every Nigerian woman will be proud of contrary to GMB who was even bold enough to say that he wont present Nigerians the right to have her first lady,in the past weve heard of popular personalities like Flora Azikiwe,Victoria Gowon,Maryam Babangida, Stella Obasanjo who the events leading to the return of her husband to power in 1999 shot her into limelight,Stella exhibited the activism that many applauded her for. Urging females to be strong and independent is one of the major issues the first lady supported. She once commented that even though her husband had made a commitment to improving living conditions in Nigeria, things will continue to deteriorate in the country unless more women were allowed to participate in governance.” But it was with her pet project, the Child Trust Foundation that she touched the lives of many Nigerians and would be remembered for that. So I stand to say if you were not born then,itll be helpful you ask questions. In the past weve had leaders who truncated our efforts to achieve democracy,one of them today is still seeking to be relevant under this democratic rule,lost of coups were plotted,leaders assassinated and if I can take our minds back,it was always on the basis of fighting corruption,that was a popular selling reasons,but with all these mutiny Nigeria has recorded in the past, did it end corruption? No because mutiny was equally a corrupt act,and two wrongs doesnt make either right,why couldnt they think of other models,like acquiring technology,you can get a system in which corruptions are checked,eg can you pick a phone under security lock to operate it? No,you dont solve a digital problem with analog system,this is a digital age. Since opposition is very consistent in saying hell fight corruption, recently the presidential candidate of APC, facts are coming out. N25billion was corruptly siphoned out of the country’s treasury when he was heading the PTF; at that time, naira was superior to the dollar. N25billion will approximately be equivalent to about $32billion. Convert $32billion of that time to the value now, you will be amazed. Then tell me who is corrupt? The problem is that Nigerians are not ready to intellectually analyse issues. Is certificate racket not corruption? PDP doesnt go about marketing themselves as much as the opposition does,its a brand already,PDP has remain PDP for 16yrs and counting,they have fend off challenges from various parties,which had changed names,from name changing today it has merged to become what we have today as APC several propaganda has been on display,issues of verbal attack on PDP for campaigning in Kano a day after Nyanya bomb blast by Boko Haram but just after a week the same APC rallied in Ekiti a day after Jos blast,they aimed at undermining PDP even though it means undermining Nigeria image to achieve it. The World Economic Forum was held in Nigeria,which has the next highest attendance and it was not even mentioned on cable network like CNN. BBC just brushed it briefly and their focus was more on Boko Haram. What are they trying to portray about us as a nation? Our people are yet to realise it? And it does not matter whom they want to use in achieving that. The opposition elements are only being used to pull Nigeria backward,issue of Ebola,CNN was making headlines about Nigeria new Ebola case daily but after Nigeria was declared Ebola free by WHO,how many times did the news appear on their news splash? There is this general believes in the minds of the ignorant ones that PDP has failed,but in the contrary,there are numerous PDP states today that has recorded immense success in infrastructure and human development,I dont want to mention GEJ alone when saying PDP performed well,let me take a little time to enlighten us, PDP states such as Jigawa,Bauchi,Delta,Gombe,Kebbi,Akwa Ibom without mentioning the ones built by federal government have developed standard airports along with other amenities,built by state government,you cant say these states have failed,Governor Dickson of Bayelsa in 2yrs has done wonders,most significant ones are developing institutes,colleges,and has had the highest number of beneficiaries in scholarship scheme abroad,according to Lincoln University board of trustee. Many others that would take me time to list In Rivers,during when it was a PDP state,Nigerians witness great transformation until the defection of Amaechi things stood still. Spreading lies that cant be proven doesnt exhibit fairness and equity,because lies cant overshadow the loud sounds of train running in various route in Nigeria today,when you say GEJ runs a visionless government it is very contradicting to whats on ground ,it took vision to start Youwin initiative in which my close companion ,an entrepreneur is a beneficiary,it took vision to make sure every Nigerian state has a federal university,it took vision to introduce the e-wallet system in agricultural sector,it took vision to build the only federal university in Katsina,GMBs home town ,he didnt wait for election time to promise them University,he provided them,so it makes me laugh when they say GEJ has done nothing, let me not go on and on as Id love to But when PDP says APC candidate doesnt remember his phone number and few days after he forgot the name of running mate,(referring to him as Osinbade instead of Osinbajo) that is very well proven,when Fashola says Agbeje(PDP candidate) is too old to rule Lagos at 60, old people sleep in office and do nothing But his Presidential candidate is 73,you clearly perceive that these people apart from being good propagandists doesnt mean well for Nigeria So its a clear case of selling imitation product to us,products you heartedly wouldnt want to make use of,but since it profits you,you convince others who are novice to buy the product,maybe because you are good at making challenging promises,I can only say youve betrayed Nigeria and our vengeance as citizens will be at the poll,GEJ is the best. I thank my governor,Chief Godswill Akpabio for supporting the president,I also thank GEJ for supporting my governor,well continue the good work,they(APC) will continue in their falsehood till Failbuhari 14..
