Comments from Erhan Şermet about this article : I make a blog about important names in the history of photography . I write about a new photographer each week in chronological order – I wrote about Nadar the previous week, so I am still at the early years of photography. Having happily accompanied William and his assistant Pierre-Louis during their stay in Istanbul for the ‘Fotoistanbul’ Festival which ended last friday, I realized William’s page was going to be an exceptional one for me as he would be the first ‘master’ I could write about personally, this is why I decided not to wait for the chronogically correct week and so here is the link to my William Klein page. The page is in Turkish, with a couple of my favourite William Klein photographs, and also a picture I made of him the night he arrived and a photograph shot by an unknown photographer in Istanbul in 1957 –when he visited Istanbul for the first time.
